I have two days left. Two. Days.
That’s how I’d say it. My main character, Maxime, would probably add in an expletive or two, because she tends to curse like a sailor when she’s stressed out. And I’m gonna go ahead and drop a secret on you: I’m stressed out.
I have to write approximately 5,000 words in the next two days. I know. I know. I’ve done that in one day before, but that was a fluke. A total freak accident. And I don’t have the luxury of time to bank on another freak accident coming my way. So I’m just going to sit here and sulk and think about all the ways NaNoWriMo has ruined my life in the past 28 days: Like the fact that I haven’t really seen my friends; The way the bags under my eyes have swelled to new dimensions that can barely be disguised by concealer; Or the three-to-five pounds I’ve packed on by spending an additional two or so hours on my tush every night.
I think it’s the last one that bothers me the most, since I’m six days away from a vacation to Mexico, where I’ll spend most of my week in a swimsuit. Curse you NaNoWriMo.

One important thing to keep in mind is whether you actually make 50k or not, in this month you have already done something that most people would find imposssible.
You’ve already written 45 K. That’s a lot. And moreover, you’ve dedicated yourself, fully, fiercely, wildly to something that you wanted and made amazing things happen just because you were that dedicated; and that’s the kind of thing that you can use to make amazing things happen in any area of your life that you want, whether it be career, or creation, or chasing your dreams.
NaNoWriMo has already taught you things. It’s shown you that you are capable of being talented, amazing, way the heck above the level of most of the people around you.
And that’s a great thing. Whether or not you make it all the way to 50 K, you’re already awesome.
Now you can certainly sit and pout if you like. Your option- you have Free Will.
Or you can chose to be even more awesome.
Might I suggest that it’s not over til the fat lady sings?…
It’s 2 days. it’s 5000 words. It’s not unattainable
If you’re up to 45 K, and have 5 K to go, my calculation is that yu’ve been writing an average of 1607 words per day. To hit 50 K, you’d have up your rate to 2500, which is not quite 900 words more/ day (even less if you nail a few words tonight)
This isn’t impossible. Challenging yes, but still certainly possible
It’s your choice. But I’d encourage you to be proud of what you’ve already achieved and to write like the wind.
Life’s too short for pouting

Sounds like an awesome effort to me
You’ll always have a novel to show for this month, the teeny-tiny pounds on the butt you can lose anytime
